THREE-OH-WE-GO!
In Atlanta alone, it is estimated that 20 plus homeless people die each year from sleeping in the freezing cold.
Three-Oh-We-Go! is a winter time homeless rescue program operated under the 501c3, Project Live Love. The term “We go out when it is thirty degrees or below and provide late night homeless relief” doesn’t really rhyme – thus “Three-Oh-We-Go!”. Atlanta has many outstanding homeless shelter programs, but their doors close by 7 p.m. We hit the streets at 9:00 p.m. when people are bedding down and are also out of options for the night. We find them in all different states of unpreparedness. We don’t judge why they are in the predicament we find them in – we just want to help them get thru that freezing night, and maybe make it as comfortable for them as possible.
THREE-OH-WE-GO! is designed to help people living homeless make it through the night when the temperature in Atlanta drops below freezing.
THE DETAILS
Every night from November 10th to March 30th we are on call. If the temperature is forecasted to go below freezing the alarm for the GO-Night is sounded and volunteers are alerted. On GO-Nights our team of volunteers assemble together at 9:00pm at City of Refuge 1300 Simpson Road Northwest, Atlanta, GA 30314. From there we divide up locations and supplies then take to the streets with hand warmers, blankets, winter items, warm beverages, and information about local shelters and programs. Our hope is to help those we encounter make it through the night alive and warm.
