Project Live Love is designed to impact culture with the power of love in action… “Live Love.” We believe that through spreading this message that we could lead more people to put their love in the world. As a result, real change could happen to many of today’s social issues.
The question is… How will we put the message of Live Love into culture?
Some time ago we were introduced to an artist by the name of Shepard Fairey and his work OBEY Giant. In 1989 Shepard began a street art campaign based on a design he created of Andre the Giant’s face. He and others began posting these stickers wherever they went. Soon the stickers began showing up in many major cities across the U.S.A. The purpose of this campaign was nothing more than an exercise in phenomenology. Heidegger describes phenomenology as “the process of letting things manifest themselves.” The sticker had no meaning but existed only to cause people to react, to contemplate and search for meaning in the sticker. The sticker became a phenomenon in Gen-X culture.
The more we looked at Fairey’s work and how he was able to create a cultural impact by using a sticker, it only made sense that we would follow suit with a similar campaign. Only our campaign has a message… LIVE LOVE.
On January 23rd we will be having our first LIVE LOVE sticker campaign. We are going to distribute 1,000 stickers in one night in downtown Atlanta. It is our hope that people will see the stickers and be impacted by our message. Additionally, we bought the domain name livelovesticker.com so if anyone Google’s “live love sticker” they will connect with our message. The website will be in place before the 23rd.
The stickers are only one of the many tools we will use over time to interject Live Love into the culture. The more the message gets out the more others will connect with it and the more change we will make in the world.
