The Founder

Drew Benton has been a leader in the non-profit community since 2000. His career began in traditional ministry, serving as a student pastor and college pastor. In 2003, he launched a speaking ministry called Refuge Ministries, through which he traveled and spoke to thousands of teenagers and adults across the country and in Germany.

Drew then stepped away from traditional ministry leadership, sensing he needed some personal development first. It was during this season that he learned the importance of “living love” — not just preaching and teaching love, but finding tangible ways to show it to others.

In 2006, Drew met Philip Bray, Executive Director of Safehouse Outreach. Their friendship led Drew to volunteer at Safehouse, and that volunteer position grew into a full-time Director role in 2007. The next three years were spent serving the homeless men and women of Atlanta — an experience that transformed both his life and his career.

In 2009, Drew stepped away from Safehouse Outreach to found Project Live Love, an organization dedicated to influencing culture through the concept of “love in action.” Under his leadership, Project Live Love has developed successful events and programs including THREE-OH-WE-GO, LIVE LOVE EVENTS, and GET SET — activating over 8,000 individuals to show love to others and affecting the lives of more than 25,000 people in need.

Drew loves sharing his story of learning to live love. He speaks wherever invited — companies, schools, churches, and conferences — and also consults with non-profit leaders on volunteer management, board development, fundraising, marketing, and more.
